The mission of CLOSE Community is to collaboratively initiate, coordinate, and sustain prevention and intervention efforts that reduce and address youth substance use and the impact of substance use disorders within the Town of Longmeadow.

The Adult Center Presents:
How the current opioid “crisis” directly affects you – even though you have made it to the senior class
Join CLOSE Community and Dr. Al McKee, Medical Pain Management and Palliative Medicine Specialist from the Pain Management Center, Baystate Medical Center, for a free community education workshop that will answer:
- What are opioids?
- How do opioids work?
- What does misuse/abuse look like?
- What is Narcan?
- How do I manage opioids and other medications?
- How should I store/safeguard opioids in my home?
- Where/How should I dispose of them?
- How does personal/family history of drug and alcohol use effect my treatment with opioids or my children’s/grandchildren’s risk of alcohol or substance use disorders?
When: Thursday, June 7th, 6:30pm
